The case
The site where photos of women are shared without consent and subjected to sexist comments has a section dedicated to politics. Photos and videos of Carfagna, Boschi, Quartapelle, and Morani. The complaints and the postal police investigation.
The case of the Facebook group "My Wife" has opened a Pandora's box: numerous online groups are emerging these days, mostly on social media, where photos and videos of women are being shared without their consent and subjected to vulgar, sexist, and violent comments. The latest case is the "Phica.eu" forum , which even has a "VIP section" dedicated to the nonconsensual sharing of stolen photos of celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and politics.
The complaint came from MPs and MEPs who discovered themselves victims of the abuse : Valeria Campagna, a city councilor in Latina and deputy secretary of the Lazio Democratic Party , publicly denounced having discovered her photos posted on the forum starting from a post in 2024: " A platform that thrives by violating our freedom and dignity . I found an entire section dedicated to me in the section on women in politics. Some comments talk about my real body. These are people who know me."
And she adds: "I call it by its name: rape culture. Profane, disgusting, unacceptable. A culture that legitimizes and justifies violence, that ridicules those who report it, that blames the victims instead of the perpetrators. There are still those who blame us: because we posted a photo in a swimsuit, because we wore a short skirt, because we showed ourselves in a low-cut dress. As if it were our responsibility."
Alessandra Moretti , a Democratic Party MEP, said she was alerted by a colleague and found photos of herself "with unrepeatable comments ." Moretti has filed a criminal complaint against the site. "I urge everyone to report it en masse. The fight against gender violence must be shared by both women and men, because the problem of violence is a male problem, and we are its victims," the MEP said.
The list of women politicians who have been unknowingly implicated in the forum is long: from Mara Carfagna to Mariastella Gelmini, from Maria Elena Boschi to Lia Quartapelle and Alessia Morani, who has declared herself ready to take legal action. There are also photos of Giorgia Meloni and Elly Schlein . "In the next few hours, I will report the Phica forum website, which has taken images from my social media without my consent. The comments are frankly unacceptable and obscene, and they offend my dignity as a woman. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one, and we must all report these groups of men who continue to act in gangs and go unpunished despite the numerous complaints. I'm deeply shocked by what happened, but I believe we must all react together. These sites must be shut down and banned. Enough is enough!" Alessia Morani wrote on social media.
